Columbia College Chicago Theatre Department alumni talent is featured in the cast and creative team of the musical La Cage aux Folles, running March 11 through April 3 at the North Shore Center for the Performing Arts in Skokie, located at 9501 Skokie Blvd. in the Chicago suburb of Skokie.
Presented by Music Theatre Works, La Cage Aux Folles is the playful, romantic tale of a same-sex couple — Georges, the manager of a Saint-Tropez nightclub featuring drag entertainment, and Albin, his romantic partner and star performer — and the comical adventures that ensue when Georges’ son brings home his fiancee Anne’s ultra-conservative parents to meet them. The 1983 hit broke barriers as the first Broadway musical centered on a homosexual relationship. For tickets, click here.
Columbia College alum Ariel Etana Triunfo ’19, a graduate of the Theatre Department’s BA Program in Musical Theatre, is a cast member and dance captain for the show and also understudies the role of Anne. And former Columbia College Theatre Department student Sheryl Williams is the production’s intimacy choreographer.
