Columbia College Chicago Theatre Department Alumni and Faculty Bring Porchlight’s ‘Blues in the Night’ to the Stage Feb. 9-March 13

Alumni and faculty of the Columbia College Chicago Theatre Department are in the cast and creative team of the jazzy musical revue Blues in the Night, presented by Porchlight Music Theatre February 9 through March 13 at the Ruth Page Center for the Arts, located at 1016 N. Dearborn in Chicago’s Gold Coast neighborhood.

This celebration of America’s blues tradition, which features songs by the likes of Duke Ellington, Bessie Smith, Alberta Hunter, Jimmy Cox, Harold Arlen, and Johnny Mercer, has musical direction by Columbia College Theatre Department faculty member David Fiorello. The show is directed by Kenny Ingram, a former teacher of Musical Theatre Dance in the Columbia College Theatre Department’s Musical Theatre Program.

The cast includes Columbia College alum Terrell Armstrong ’19, a graduate of the Theatre Department’s BA Program in Musical Theatre. Columbia College alum Jennifer Aparicio ’07, a graduate of the Theatre Department’s Theatre Technology program, is the show’s production manager. Columbia College alum Matthew Chase ’20, a graduate of the Theatre Department’s Technical Theatre program, is the show’s audio engineer, and Columbia College alum Alex Rhyan ’15, a graduate of the Theatre Department’s BA Program in Theatre with a concentration in Stage Management, is Porchlight’s production and operations director.
