Columbia College Chicago Theatre Department alumni are in the cast and creative team for the first midwestern regional staging of Groundhog Day: The Musical, the stage version of the Bill Murray film comedy, running January 26 through March 13 at the Paramount Theatre in Aurora, Illinois.
The show’s cast includes Columbia College alum Teressa LaGamba ’13, a graduate of the Theatre Department’s BA Program in Acting. Columbia College alum Ariel Etana Triunfo ’19, a graduate of the Theatre Department’s BA Program in Musical Theatre, is assistant choreographer. Columbia College alum Jon Beal ’11, a graduate of the Theatre Department’s Acting BA program, is the fight director. Former Columbia College Theatre Department students Kory Danielson and Harmony France are the production’s music director and associate director respectively. Theatre Department faculty member Susan Gosdick is the dialect coach. And Paramount’s artistic director Jim Corti, a former Musical Theatre Dance instructor in the Columbia College Theatre Department’s Musical Theatre Program, is the show’s director.
