Columbia College Chicago Theatre Department alumnus Cody Estle ’11, a graduate of the Theatre Department’s Theatre Directing program, directs the opening production of the 2019-2020 season at Chicago’s award-winning Raven Theatre, located at 6157 N. Clark in Chicago’s Edgewater/Andersonville Theatre District. Titled Sundown, Yellow Moon, this drama with music begins its run Thursday, October 3, with a special College Night performance that features free pizza as well as the play. Tickets for the College Night event are only $10 for students who use the promotional code COLLEGE10.

A Chicago premiere, Sundown, Yellow Moon — written by Rachel Bonds with songs by The Bengsons — is a warm, delicate, and honest look at the hard work of holding a family together. Director Cody Estle is starting his third season as Raven Theatre’s artistic director. The production’s creative team includes musical director Andra Velis Simon, a teacher in the Columbia College Theatre Department’s Musical Theatre Program. And the show’s ensemble cast includes Columbia College Theatre Department faculty member Will Casey.
