Columbia College Chicago Theatre Department alumni and faculty talent is on display in Porchlight Music Theatre’s production of A Gentleman’s Guide to Love & Murder, running January 25 through March 10 at the Ruth Page Center for the Arts, 1016 N. Dearborn, Chicago. The show’s musical director, Andra Velis Simon, is a faculty member in the Columbia College Theatre Department’s Musical Theatre Program. And Columbia alum Ann Delaney ’14, a graduate of the Theatre Department’s BFA Program in Musical Theatre Performance, is in the cast, playing the role of Phoebe D’Ysquith. Based on the 1907 novel Israel Rank: The Autobiography of a Criminal and its 1949 British film version Kind Hearts and Coronets, A Gentleman’s Guide tells the uproarious story of Monty Navarro, an heir to a family fortune who sets out to jump the line of succession by eliminating the eight pesky relatives who stand in his way.
