Quinn Rigg, a junior in the Columbia College Chicago Theatre Department‘s BFA Program in Musical Theatre Performance, is featured in the holiday musical Plaid Tidings, running November 30 through December 16 at the Towle Theatre, 5205 Hohman, in Hammond, Indiana.
Rigg, who was recently profiled in a Hammond Post-Tribune advance story on Plaid Tidings, is a recipient of the 2018-19 Jim Jacobs Musical Theatre Scholarship at Columbia College Chicago. The scholarship is funded by Jim Jacobs, coauthor of the hit musical Grease and a longtime supporter of the Columbia College Chicago Theatre Department.
Created by Stuart Ross, Plaid Tidings — a sequel to Ross’s hit Forever Plaid — concerns a male vocal quartet from the 1950s, The Plaids, who return from the afterlife to sing doo-wop harmony versions of classic pop songs. The show’s score includes such vintage hits as “White Christmas,” “Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow,” “I’ll Be Home For Christmas,” “Besame Mucho,” “The Dreidel Song,” and “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” as well as a Harry Belafonte-inspired “Calypso Christmas” medley.
