Annabelle Revak, a senior at Columbia College Chicago studying Musical Theatre and Music Composition, is profiled in VoyageChicago, an online news site and nightlife guide devoted to telling “Chicago’s most inspiring stories.” In an interview posted November 15, 2018, as part of the publication’s ongoing series The Trailblazers: Rewriting the Narrative, Revak recounts:
“I moved to Chicago three years ago to start school for music composition and musical theatre at Columbia College. It was quite a change from Nowheresville, WI – which is exactly what I wanted. I moved here not knowing anybody. The only thing I really DID know was that I wanted to make new musicals.”
Revak is pursuing a double BA in Musical Theatre from the Columbia College Chicago Theatre Department and Music Composition from the Columbia College Chicago Music Department. She is the conductor and principal keyboardist for the Theatre Department’s mainstage production of the rock musical High Fidelity, running November 28 through December 8 at Studio 404 of the Getz Theater Center of Columbia College Chicago. She is also the resident literary manager at Underscore Theatre, a Chicago-based company dedicated to producing new musicals.
VoyageChicago’s Trailblazers series highlights female role models in all fields in order to “encourage more equal and just representation in the media” of women.
