Columbia College Chicago Theatre Department alumni are in the cast and production team of Henrik Ibsen’s classic drama Pillars of the Community, running January 19-March 3 at Strawdog Theatre, 1802 W. Berenice, Chicago. This acclaimed adaptation of Ibsen’s 1877 play tells the story of the return of a fugitive brother who puts the future of wealthy businessman Karsten Bernick in peril. Details of a long-buried sex scandal and embezzlement come to the surface and force Bernick to face his family, his community and his demons. The cast includes Michaela Petro, a former student in the Columbia College Theatre Department’s Acting program. The production team includes Columbia College Chicago Theatre Department alums Arianna Soloway ’13, a graduate of Columbia College Chicago’s BFA Program in Theatre Directing, and Kate Hardiman ’13, also a graduate of Columbia College’s Theatre Directing program, as well as former Theatre Design program student John Kelly.
