Columbia College Chicago Theatre Department alumni are featured in The Food Show, a new devised, site-specific performance piece created by the Neo-Futurists, one of Chicago’s leading experimental theatres, in partnership with Metropolitan Brewing. The show runs July 27-September 2 at Metropolitan Brewing’s new location at 3057 N. Rockwell, in Chicago’s Avondale neighborhood.
The show’s performance ensemble includes Columbia College Chicago Theatre Department alumnus Spencer Meeks ’15, a graduate of Columbia’s BA Program in Musical Theatre, and former Theatre Department student Tif Harrison. Columbia College alum J.C. Widman ’14, a graduate of the Theatre Department’s technical theatre program, is the production’s stage manager, and the lighting designer is former Columbia College student John Kelly.
The Food Show explores how food brings people together and sets people apart. An ensemble of five writer-performers get their hands dirty in this celebration and cross examination of food and its relationship to identity. For tickets, call 773-878-4557 or click here.
