Columbia College Chicago Theatre Department student Elya Faye Bottiger, a graduating senior in the Theatre Department’s BFA Program in Musical Theatre Performance, will make her Chicago cabaret debut Wednesday, May 3, at 8 PM at Davenport’s Piano Bar and Cabaret, 1383 N. Milwaukee, in Chicago’s Wicker Park neighborhood. In Elya Faye *IS* Ruthie Henshall, Bottiger will perform a tribute to British musical theatre actress Ruthie Henshall. The evening will showcase Bottiger re-creating some of Henshall’s notable performances in such shows as She Loves Me, Chicago, Les Miserables, Billy Elliot, and Putting It Together.
Elya Faye *IS* Ruthie Henshall will be directed by Christopher Pazdernik, with musical direction by Bottiger’s fellow Columbia College Theatre Department student Benjamin Nichols.
Bottiger is a two-time recipient of Columbia College Chicago’s Jim Jacobs Musical Theatre Scholarship, which was established by actor-playwright-songwriter Jim Jacobs, coauthor of the hit musical Grease.
