Columbia College Chicago Theatre Department alum Robyn Coffin ’02, a regular cast member of the TV series Chicago Fire, is featured in the world premiere of Sycamore, a drama by Brooklyn-based playwright Sarah Sander, running March 8-April 29 at Chicago’s acclaimed Raven Theatre. Coffin, a graduate of the Theatre Department’s BA Program in Acting, portrays a suburban mother whose teenage children — a high school senior and her gay younger brother — compete for the attention of the boy next door.
Other Columbia College Chicago Theatre Department alumni involved in the production are Conor Clark ’13, a graduate of the Theatre Department’s Musical Theatre BA program, and Cody Estle ’11, a graduate of the Theatre Department’s Theatre Directing program. Clark is Raven Theatre’s technical director, and Estle is Raven’s associate artistic director. Estle’s staging of Richard Greenberg’s drama The Assembled Parties, also running at Raven Theatre, has been extended through March 25.
