The LIVINGroom, an ensemble of solo writer/performers including several alumni of the Columbia College Chicago Theatre Department, presents a special event for Memorial Day weekend. On Sunday, May 29, the group presents Playlist, a performance created in collaboration with sound designer Jeffrey Levin (BA ’10), a graduate of the Columbia College Chicago Music Department‘s BA Program in Music with a Composition Concentration. Playlist integrates sound art with solo performance, with sound design created for each performer and story. The performers include Columbia alumni Abigail Phelps (BA ’15), Ian Randall (BFA ’06), Joel Reitsma (BFA ’08), and LIVINGroom founder Laura Reitsma (BFA ’09), all graduates of the Theatre Department’s acting program. The show is directed by Laura Reitsma.

The show takes place Sunday, May 29, at 8 PM at Stage 773, 1225 W. Belmont, in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood. Tickets are $10; student tickets are only $7 the night of the show at the box office with a student ID. For tickets, call 773-327-5252 or click here.

The LIVINGroom is a theatrical assembly of individual, autobiographical performances that blend spoken word, movement, spectacle, music, and any other device that bridges the personal and the universal. Performers in The LIVINGroom engage the audience in as many points of the performance as possible, blurring the line between spectator and stage in order to find commonality with each other.
