Columbia College Chicago Theatre Department alum Joanie Schultz (BA ’00), a graduate of the Theatre Department’s Theatre Directing program, is staging the U.S. premiere of Irish playwright Deirdre Kinahan’s drama Spinning, running May 25-July 3 at the Den Theatre. The show is presented by the Irish Theatre of Chicago.

“The emotional life of Spinning is viscerally truthful and relatable,” says Schultz. “Deirdre Kinahan throws us head first into the colliding lives of two parents desperately trying to hang on to their children. The play weaves together an emotional landscape of loss and regret in which devastation and confusion spiral out of control in action and in memory. As we jump in time through past and present, the play keeps the audience on the edge of their seats, trying madly to understand the events that got us to this present moment.”

The Den Theatre is located at 1333 N. Milwaukee, in Chicago’s Wicker Park neighborhood. For tickets, call ll 866-811-4111 or click here.
