Gretchen Wylder
Columbia College Chicago Theatre Department alumna Gretchen Wylder is in the company of the new Off-Broadway show Clinton The Musical, now running at New World Stages, 340 W. 50th St., New York. Wylder, who graduated from Columbia College in 2007 with a BA in Acting, is in the show’s ensemble and also covers the roles of Hillary Clinton and Monica Lewinsky in this new musical satire of the Bill Clinton presidency. Clinton The Musical was a hit at last summer’s New York Musical Theatre Festival. The show stars Tom Galantich as President Clinton, Kerry Butler as Hillary Clinton, and Judy Gold as Eleanor Roosevelt.

This summer, Wylder will appear at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in Scotland in Uncompromising Artistry Productions‘ staging of Rent to mark the landmark rock musical’s 20th anniversary. The show’s production team includes Rent‘s original star, Anthony Rapp; he’s pictured here with Wylder, who will play Alexi Darling and cover the role of Maureen.
Wylder’s other recent Off-Broadway credits include The Wild Party (2012), The Lesbian Love Octagon (2013), and Bedbugs!!! It’s a Musical and Til Divorce Do Us Part (2014).
