One of the three individual Space and Place installations now on display at 916 S. Wabash Avenue is by Michelle Korte Leccia, an MFA in the Interdiscilplinary Arts and Media program. Korte Leccia’s work, entitled Gulp Away is an instigative gesture inspired by the tracking of Coca-Cola cans to and from Columbia College’s campus. In a tangle of barrels, tires, tubing and aluminum cans, viewers are encouraged to “drive” along the walls of the installation.
There will be a closing reception Tuesday, December 13, 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. that is free and open to the public. Korte Leccia’s piece is supported in part by a Columbia College Chicago Critical Encounters mini-grant.
