AnySquared’s “Because Art” exhibit presents work that reveals the discourse between the art and the artist. Through installation, painting, drawing, photography, video, sculpture and mixed media, the exhibit explores approaches and techniques of art practice and how it is shaped through the process of self-identification. Thesis-year Book & Paper student Angela Davis Fegan, who has exhibited extensively with AnySquared in the last four years, is a featured artist in this group exhibition. Davis Fegan is showcasing work from her Lavender Menace poster project.
The exhibition reception is Friday, October 10, from 6:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. at the Hairpin Arts Center, located at 2810 N. Milwaukee Avenue. The exhibition will be on display October 10 – November 2, with gallery hours Saturdays & Sundays 1:00 p.m.–4:00 p.m.
As a core part of AnySquared’s Residency at the Hairpin Arts Center, The “Because Art” exhibit is also in conjunction with the rollout of AnySquared’s online publication “Because We Are Artists.”
