Media MFA Christopher Bednash will be directing two fun and informal events this week as part of his ongoing Dream Seeding and Earth Wedding projects. On Thursday, November 21 from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., the Conaway Center will morph into pop-up video recording set, where participants can peruse a wide variety of “Dream Seeds.” Says Bednash, “The “Dream Seed” is what I call visual reminders of the beauty and compassion of our world and many people in it.” He will be interviewing passers by and participants on the theme “One Thing That Gives You Hope,” and videotaping the process and discussions.
The following day, Friday November 22, Bednash will remount his participatory performance work Earth Weddings in the Papermaker’s Garden. “The Papermaker’s Garden is the ideal spot for ministering these Earth Weddings,” says Chris, and especially timely this week, so soon after the “Dia de los Bulbos” bulb planting by InterArts graduate students. Bednash will present the collection of “Dream Seeds,” populating the autumnal Papermakers’ Garden with visions and texts, demonstrating a conscious commitment to honor and respect the earth. Bednash will be recording the event, which will take place from 12:00–4:00 p.m.
Refreshments will be provided at both the Earth Wedding and Dream Seeding events.
