First-year MFA Book & Paper student Kelly Schmidt’s silverpoint drawing For Michael is currently on view at the Gallery of the Yale Institute Library in New Haven, CT. Curator Stephen Vincent Cobossa contacted Schmidt to ask her if he could include her privately commissioned work in the Crossing the Line: A Collection of Drawings group exhibition. Schmidt, primarily a printmaker, enjoys researching the history of humans using bones as a tool. When she draws, she prefers drawing from life. She received her BFA from Hartford Art School in 2011.
