Position: The Studio Art Department at The University of North Texas (UNT) seeks an accomplished visual artist with a commitment to excellence in teaching and professional practice in New Media Art.

Responsibilities: Teach all levels of undergraduate and graduate courses in New Media Art. Courses may include, but are not limited to: Art+Code, Experimental 3D, Physical Computing, and Topics in New Media Art. Faculty is expected to maintain an active professional practice, and participate in the development and coordination of the New Media Art program. 

Job Summary/Basic Function: As an integral part of an exciting new initiative funded by The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, the Davis Museum at Wellesley College seeks an innovative, energetic, and ambitious New Media Curator-Lecturer at the Associate level. Located at the Davis, this position is charged primarily with curatorial duties (75%); and also has lecturing responsibilities in the Art Department at Wellesley College (25%). A three-year appointment, the New Media Curator-Lecturer is an integrated part of the Davis staff, as well as an active participant in the Art Department; s/he reports to the Assistant Director for Curatorial Affairs / Senior Curator of Collections at the Davis.

Qualifications:
MFA, at time of appointment, in Electronic/New Media Art or related field, and active and distinguished record of creative work appropriate to rank. MS / MA degree in New Media Art or a related field with a significant record of exhibition and prior teaching experience may also be considered. Professional experience beyond graduate school is required. We will consider experience in interdisciplinary and collaborative research, and experience in teaching at the college, university or art school level, with preference to those with experience as instructor of record.
The successful candidate must have proficiency in a wide variety of media and technologies, particularly: code-based and generative art practices, electronics and mechatronics, interactive and responsive art.

Preferred Qualifications:
Other areas of expertise may include: 3D modeling and 3D animation, digital fabrication, DIY and open source, gaming, augmented reality, and other interactive-centered practices. The candidate must be conversant about relevant art historical, critical and theoretical concerns, and in the intersection of art, science, technology and new media for a contemporary art context.
