Become an Artist Intern at the Elephant Room

    An artist intern is placed with a locally working artist through Elephant Room’s screening process.

    The intern would be responsible for assisting the artist with in-studio organization, file organization, updating social media & websites, communicating with clients & other art professionals on the artist’s behalf, assisting with writing & other marketing as well as attending openings & other art events with the artist or as a representative.

    The hours required each week would be a combination of working in the studio and working remotely with internet access.

    The internship provides the student with the valuable experience of learning the day to day operations of a locally working artists and provides a setting in which the student can demonstrate their own professional skills and allow for important networking opportunities for future career possibilities.

    Dates: Mid-January 2013–May 10th, 2013
    Hours: 16–20 hours per week (includes in-studio time & working remotely)
    Compensation: Unpaid

    Skills & Qualifications:
    Student must be at a Junior or Senior level in College with a GPA of at least 3.0. You must be familiar with researching on the web, have knowledge of social media communities, have a positive attitude, be a self starter, have some familiarity with the arts industry and have good communication skills.
