Students in Nancy VanKanegan’s fall 2012 course Visual Art: Theory and Practice opened their exhibition An Amalgamation of Ideas this Friday, December 7, with a reception and artists’ talk commencing at 5:00 p.m. The exhibition, which runs until December 12, will feature work that dives into students’ explorations of concepts and ideas in visual art. The class has been led by Interarts faculty Nancy VanKanegan, and the group was joined this semester by Maria Carraquilla-Vallejo, who contributed a curatorial eye to the development of the project.

The exhibition includes work by Brittany Baker, Victor Ewing, Grace Gachocha, Brent Koehn, Jasmyn Leapheart, Chen Zou, Demi Potter, Sarah Machaj, and J. Johari Palacio. Gallery C33 is at 33 East Congress, on the first floor, and hours are Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. The exhibition will be on view through December 12, 2012.
