International Emerging Artist Award (IEAA) is the United Arab Emirates first contemporary art competition open for artists both from the UAE and internationally. Based in Dubai, the International Emerging Artist Award, previously known as Emergent Artist Award, was created with the vision to provide a world class recognition for emerging artists and as a means to showcase their work by offering an international exhibition road show.
The International Emerging Artist Award strives to contribute to the UAE’s vision to position the UAE as a global hub for emerging art. Dubai has become one of the most important cities in the Middle East, offering exciting opportunities in the field of contemporary art. With over 120 art galleries and institutions across the Emirates flourishing in just 6 years, the United Arab Emirates has truly proven itself to be an international destination for emerging artists.
This year the IEAA is launching the Emerging Emirati Artist Award, a special focus on Emirati Artist talents in junction with the international competition with the honorific support of Her Highness Sheikha Wafa Hasher AlMaktoum. The winners of both award categories will see their artwork showcased in Dubai, Singapore, Istanbul and Marseille, the nominated cities for the international road show represented by renowned art galleries. This international collaboration will provide an exceptional opportunity to any ambitious artist looking at building a credible reputation on the international art scene.
The IEEA is seeking for artists whom are most able to create artwork in a personal and contemporary approach along with a coherent theme. Judges will value an innovative concept and will take into account the artists commitment to sincere practice that culminates a unique application.
