Printed Matter, Inc. presents the seventh annual New York Art Book Fair, from September 28 to 30, at MoMA PS1, Long Island City, Queens. A preview will be held this evening (September 27) from 6:00-9:00 p.m.
JAB will be exhibiting all weekend in their booth at MOMA, and fair visitors can stop by to pick up the latest issue of JAB 32. The new issue features guest editors Catarina Figueiredo Cardoso and Isabel Baraona, who have assembled essays written expressly for JAB by the current best and most active Portuguese scholars, writers, artists, and publishers. Fascinating essays trace the history, ideas, people, and works that define Portuguese experimental publishing, art, and poetry from the latter half of the twentieth century up to now.
Also on hand at the booth will be special edition artists’ books from previous JAB collaborations and issues, such as the newly available facsimile edition of Johanna Drucker’s From A to Z, and The Little Book of Boekie Woekie from JAB 28 (2010).
Past issues of this unique and amazing publication will also be on hand at the booth, including hard-to-find out of print issues.
