CHICAGO ART OPEN

Opening date: April 24 12-5pm (I’ll be there 12:30-1:30)

Location: River East Art Center, 435 E. Illinois St. Chicago IL

The Chicago Art Open, now in its 12th year, is the Midwest region’s largest open invitational art exhibit, featuring works by over 350 visual artists during a three week exhibit at the River East Art Center. The show will run April 24 – May 7, 2010.

The works in this year’s Art Open were selected by a jury of Chicago art experts: Susan Aurinko; Stephanie Burke (Photography teacher at Wilbur Wright College and Hyde Park Art Center, Managing Editor for Art Talk Chicago and Chicago Art Magazine); Judy Saslow (Art collector and owner of the Judy Saslow Gallery); and Allison Stites (Independent curator and former Executive Director of Around the Coyote). According to Juror/Curator Susan Aurinko, we are presenting one of our strongest Art Open exhibits to date, “From photography to sculpture, works on paper to paintings, anyone wishing to begin or add to their collection will find something that that intrigues.”
