Radical New York-based performance-technology artist, and Guggenheim Fellowship-winning choreographer-dance, Koosil-ja Hwang, will present an electrifying new multimedia performance piece at The Dance Center. Using dance and live camera work Blocks of Continuality/Body, Image, and Algorithm tells three simultaneous stories simulating the coexistence of the digital and flesh worlds. Digital scenery will be created in a 3D engine with an interactive world based on the dancers’ movements. Created in collaboration with 19 artists, Blocks blends modern and traditional, digital and flesh, using synesthesia, transcoding and perception as means of experiencing the virtual dimension of body and the potential of a dynamically networked body situated in digital environment.
