Columbia College Chicago Theatre alums are in the cast and creative team of Hell in a Handbag Productions‘ winter holiday show Rudolph the Red-Hosed Reindeer (An Unauthorized Musical Parody), running through January 5, 2025, at the Hoover Leppen Theatre at the Center on Halsted, located at 3656 N. Halsted in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood. This popular musical parody of the animated 1967 children’s television special features all your favorite misfits and Rudolph – the cross-dressing reindeer with a penchant for red hose and heels. The show’s cast includes Columbia College Theatre alums Kelly Bolton ’04, who plays Herbie the Elf, and TJ O’Brien ’95, who plays Queen Moon Racer, the ruler of Misfit Toys. (O’Brien created the role of Rudolph in the show’s original production.)
The show’s scenic designer is Columbia College alum Marcus Klein ’23, a graduate of the Theatre program’s BA Program in Theatre Design and Technology.
