Based on the historical novel by E.L. Doctorow, Ragtime – with a book by Terrence McNally, music by Stephen Flaherty, and lyrics by Lynn Ahrens – interweaves the stories of an upper-class white mother, a determined Jewish immigrant, and a daring Black musician living in the volatile melting pot of New York City at the dawn of the 20th century.
