Columbia College Chicago Theatre Department alum Aaron Reese Boseman ‘12, a graduate of the Theatre Department’s Theatre Directing program and currently a Theatre Department faculty member, directs Invictus Theatre’s production of Katori Hall’s play The Mountaintop, running February 16 through March 19 at Invictus’ Reginald Vaughn Theatre, located at 1106 W. Thorndale in Chicago’s Edgewater neighborhood.
Hall’s 2009 drama vividly reimagines the final night of the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. before his assassination in Memphis, Tennessee, on April 4, 1968. Student discounts are available. For tickets, click here.
The show’s cast includes Mikha’el Amin, a former student in the Columbia College Theatre Department’s Acting program, who played Walter Lee Younger in Invictus Theatre’s 2020 production of A Raisin in the Sun, which was also directed by Boseman.
The production team for The Mountaintop includes Columbia College alums Kevin Rolfs ’17, a graduate of the Theatre Department’s BA Program in Theatre Design, and D.J. Douglass ’12, a graduate of the Theatre Department’s BA Program in Musical Theatre, as well as Theatre Department faculty member Susan Gosdick. They are the show’s set designer, projectionist, and dialect coach respectively.
