Directed by Tiffany Keane (BA ’12), a graduate of the Theatre Department’s theatre directing program, this world premiere by Stuart Bousel features a cast including Columbia alumni Grace Gimpel (BA ’12), a graduate of the Theatre Department’s BA Program in Musical Theatre, and Kai Young (BA ’12), a graduate of the Theatre Department’s BA Program in Acting. Joe Griffin, a former student at the Columbia College Chicago Music Department, is the show’s sound engineer.

The play, about a group of vampire hunters, is presented as a site-specific production in the historic Epworth United Methodist Church, located at 5253 N. Kenmore in Chicago’s Edgewater neighborhood. Built in 1888, the church will provide an atmospheric environment for the action, as audience members follow a guide who leads them through the narrative of the play, immersing themselves among the society of vampire hunters and witnessing the horror unfold.

Co-founded in 2012 by Tiffany Keane and Bennett Bottero, a former student in the Theatre Department’s acting program, Otherworld Theatre is a company dedicated to science fiction and fantasy performance.

Gone Dark runs October 31-November 22. The play includes strong violence and sexual themes; viewer discretion is advised. For tickets, click here.
