Columbia College Chicago Theatre Department alumni are in the cast and creative team of Porchlight Music Theatre‘s production of Rent, the landmark rock musical by Jonathan Larson.
The show is directed by Columbia College alum Adrian Abel Azevedo ’15, a graduate of the Theatre Department’s Theatre Directing program.
The cast includes Columbia College alums Josh Pablo Szabo ’19, a graduate of the Theatre Department’s BFA Program in Musical Theatre Performance; Teressa LaGamba ’13, a graduate of the Theatre Department’s BA Program in Acting; and
The production team includes Columbia College alums Josiah Croegaert ’21, a graduate of the Theatre Department’s BA Program in Theatre Design and Technology; Matthew Chase ’20, a graduate of the Theatre Department’s Technical Theatre program; Kirsten Baity ’21, who graduated Summa cum Laude with a BA in Theatre with a Playwriting concentration; and Andrea Enger ’16, Kevin Vilchez ’22, and Alex Rhyan ’15, all graduates of the Theatre Department’s BA Program in Theatre. Croegaert is the show’s associate lighting designer; Chase is the sound designer; Baity is the production’s intimacy designer; Enger and Vilchez are assistant stage managers; and Rhyan is Porchlight’s production and operations director.
In addition, the rock musical’s band includes Columbia College alum Cesar Romero ’13, a graduate of the Columbia College Chicago Music Department‘s BMus Program in Contemporary Urban and Popular Music.
