Columbia College Chicago Theatre Department alumni bring Porchlight Music Theatre‘s New Faces Sing 1959 to the Skokie Theatre on Monday, February 26, and then to the Arts Club of Chicago on Tuesday, February 27. The show — a revue of musical theatre songs from 1959 — is directed by Columbia College alumnus Adrian Abel Azevedo ’15, a graduate of the Theatre Department’s Theatre Directing program. The cast includes Columbia alum Mallory Maedke ’14, a graduate of the Columbia College Theatre Department’s BFA Program in Musical Theatre Performance.
The show features selections from Broadway musicals that played in 1959, including Gypsy, Once Upon a Mattress, Flower Drum Song, and The Sound of Music. The Skokie Theatre is located at 7924 Lincoln Avenue in the northern Chicago suburb of Skokie. And the Arts Club of Chicago is located at 201 E. Ontario, Chicago.
