The Columbia College Chicago School of Theatre and Dance‘s 2025-26 Mainstage Season concludes with the musical Fun Home, running April 30 through May 9 in the Courtyard Theatre of the historic Getz Theatre Center of Columbia College, located at 72 E. 11th St. in Chicago’s South Loop. Based on Alison Bechdel’s acclaimed graphic memoir, Fun Home concerns Bechdel’s discovery of her own lesbian sexuality, her relationship with her closeted gay father, and her attempts to unlock the mysteries surrounding his life. The show, which won the 2015 Tony Awards for Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical, and Best Original Score Written for the Theatre in its original Broadway run, features music by Jeanine Tesori and a libretto by Lisa Kron. The Columbia College School of Theatre and Dance production features an all-student cast and a production team of students and professionals, all under the direction of faculty member Elizabeth Swanson.
