Columbia College Chicago Theatre alums and faculty are featured in Say Gay Plays, a free staged reading of new short plays presented by About Face Theatre and the Silk Road Cultural Center on Saturday, September 20, at 2 PM. The performance takes place at Northeastern Illinois University’s Carruthers Center for Inner City Studies, 700 E. Oakwood, Chicago. Admission is free, but reservations are strongly encouraged and seating is limited. For tickets, click here.
The program features newly commissioned 10-minute plays by Chicago-based writers, including Columbia College alum Hannah Ii-Epstein ’15, s graduate of Columbia’s fiction writing program and artistic director of Nothing Without A Company, and Columbia College Chicago School of Theatre and Dance faculty member Emilio Williams.
The performing ensemble includes Columbia College alum Brandi Jiminez Lee ’15, a graduate of the Theatre Program’s BA Program in Acting.
Say Gay Plays is an extension of an initiative of New York City’s Voyage Theater Company and part of Goodman Theatre’s Free Acts of Theatre sponsored by Chicago’s Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events.
