Columbia College Chicago Theatre alum Aaron Reese Boseman ‘12, a graduate of the Theatre Directing program, plays blues guitarist B.B. King in the musical Blue Heaven, running September 6 through October 26 at the Black Ensemble Theatre, located at 4450 N. Clark in Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood. For tickets, click here.
Described a “a soul-stirring celebration of the Blues featuring the music of Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf, Big Mama Thornton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and B.B. King,” Blue Heaven is written and directed by Black Ensemble’s producing managing director Daryl Brooks, a faculty member at the Columbia College Chicago School of Theatre and Dance.
The show’s production team includes Columbia College alum DJ Douglass ’12, a graduate of the Theatre Department’s BA Program in Musical Theatre, who is the show’s sound designer. Columbia College alum Harrison Ornelas ’15, a graduate of Columbia’s Film and Television BA Program, is the technical director.
