The Point Theatre Project, a company founded and led by Columbia College Chicago Theatre alums, presents Gladiator Fright Night, an interactive theatrical experience in which iconic horror characters face off in a battle to the death. Audiences will vote to determine who moves up the bracket in this choose-your-own-adventure-style show. Performances take place August 29 through 31 at the Bramble Arts Loft, located at 5545 N. The show’s coauthors are Columbia College Theatre alums Sadie Walton ’17, a graduate of the Theatre Program’s BA Program in Comedy Writing and Performance, and Brandon C. Nelson ’18, a graduate of the Theatre Program’s Acting BA program, along with former Columbia College Theatre student Sophie Rosado; Walton and Rosado also co-host the performances.
The production is directed by Columbia alum Jen Sloan ’17, a graduate of the Theatre Program’s Theatre Directing Program; and produced by Columbia alum Zimbo Gessert ’19, a graduate of the Theatre Program’s BA Program in Acting.
Columbia alum Sierra Buffum ’16, a graduate of the Acting BA Program, is the production manager. Columbia College alums Tristin Hall ’18 and Veronica Oczowinski ’18, both graduates of the Theatre Program’s BA Program in Musical Theatre, are Point Theatre Project’s artistic director and managing director respectively.
The cast includes Hall, Oczowinski, Gessert, Buffum, and Columbia alums Sar Cohen ’18, a graduate of the BA Program in Acting with a Minor in Stage Combat; Meme Matteson ’18, a graduate of the BA Program in Musical Theatre; and Tina-Kim Nguyen ’19, a graduate of the BA Program in Acting.
