Columbia College Chicago Theatre alums are in the cast and creative team of the Artistic Home Studio‘s 2025 edition of its annual Cut to the Chase festival of new one-act plays, running May 1 through 4 at the Den Theatre, located at 1331 N. Milwaukee in Chicago’s Wicker Park neighborhood. Six plays by six different authors and helmed by six directors will approach questions of perception and reality under the theme “What is Real?” The show runs as one program running approximately 90 minutes in total, with the six plays performed back-to-back, Five of the plays are world premieres and one is a Chicago premiere. Rinska Carrasco-Prestinary

David Stobbe

One of the short plays in the festival, Postpartum, is a world premiere directed by Columbia College alum Rinska Carrasco-Prestinary ’10, a graduate of the Theatre Department’s BA Program in Theatre. The play’s cast includes Columbia College alum David Stobbe ’16, a graduate of the Theatre Program’s BA Program in Musical Theatre.
