Columbia College Chicago Theatre alums are in the cast and creative team of Hell in a Handbag Productions‘ new show Scary Town, running April 9 through May 11 at The Clutch, located at 4335 N. Western in Chicago’s Lincoln Square neighborhood. This world premiere by Hell in a Handbag artistic director David Cerda is a semi-autobiographical “adult children’s play” about growing up, seeing things differently, and questioning your very existence – as told through the lens of a little brown bunny. The show’s ensemble includes Columbia College alums ’22, a graduate of the Theatre Program’s BFA Program in Musical Theatre Performance, and TJ O’Brien ’95.
On the production team, the show’s scenic designer is Columbia College alum Marcus Klein ’23, a graduate of the Theatre program’s BA Program in Theatre Design and Technology. The show’s sound designer is Columbia alum DJ Douglass ’12, a graduate of the Theatre Program’s BA Program in Musical Theatre.
