Columbia College Chicago Theatre Alums Bring Pinter’s ‘Dumb Waiter’ to Bramble Arts Loft Jan. 23-Feb. 1

The Point Theatre Project, a company founded by Columbia College Chicago Theatre alums, presents The Dumb Waiter, Harold Pinter’s acclaimed absurdist dark comedy, in a reimagined production January 23 through February 1 at the Bramble Theatre Company’s Bramble Arts Loft, located at 5545 N. Pinter’s 1957 one-act concerns Gus and Ben, two hit men, who are awaiting their next assignment in the basement of what they assume is an empty building.

The production is directed by Columbia College alum Jen Sloan ’17, a graduate of the Theatre program’s Theatre Directing Program. The cast comprises Columbia College alums Erika B. Caldwell ’19 as Gus and Cole Festenstein ’19 as Ben. Both are graduates of the Theatre program’s Acting program. Festenstein is the show’s producer and Caldwell is the show’s dramaturg.

Columbia College alum David Gallo ’18, a graduate of the Theatre Department’s BA Program in Acting with a Minor in Voiceover, is the show’s assistant director. Columbia College alum Tristin Hall ’18, a graduate of the Theatre Program’s BA Program in Musical Theatre, is the show’s fight and intimacy director and also serves as Point Theatre Project’s artistic director. And Columbia College alum Zimbo Gessert ’19, a graduate of the Theatre Program’s BA Program in Acting, is Point Theatre Project’s director of development.
