Columbia College Chicago alums are in the cast and creative team of two productions that are running in repertory at Chicago’s award-winning American Blues Theatre, 5627 N. Lincoln, Chicago: Misery, William Goldman’s stage adaptation of the novel by Stephen King, and a return engagement of the musical The Last Wide Open, which premiered last summer to critical and box-office success. Misery stars Columbia College alum Steve Key ’88, a graduate of Columbia’s art and design program. The show’s scenic designer is Columbia College alum Shayna Patel ’22, a graduate of the Theatre program’s BA Program in Theatre Design and Technology.
The Last Wide Open has scenic design by Columbia College alums Grant Sabin ’05 and Marcus Klein ’23, both graduates of the Theatre program’s BA Program in Theatre Design and Technology. Klein is also the production’s scenic charge.
