Columbia College Chicago Theatre Department alumni are on the creative team of Generation Red, running January 17 through February 7 at Otherworld Theatre Company, a Chicago theatre dedicated to science-fiction and fantasy genre theatre.. Columbia College alum Tiffany Keane Schaefer ’12, a graduate of the Theatre Department’s Theatre Directing program, is the show’s production designer and stage manager, as well as being the founding artistic director of Otherworld. And Columbia College alum Benjamin Carne ’18, a graduate of the Theatre Department’s Theatre Design program, is the show’s lighting designer.

The play concerns the first four people to be born on Mars, and focuses on such themes as family, rites of passage, fantasy vs. reality, and the power of stories.
