As previously reported in this blog, Quijada won the 2018 ALTA Award for Outstanding Performer in a Sketch or Review from the Alliance of Latinx Theater Artists of Chicago (ALTA). Quijada was honored for his performance in Sound + Fury: A Night of Electronic Storytelling, which also played at Steppenwolf’s 1700 Theatre.
The Wild Party Variety Hour is an immersive event featuring an hour-long variety show packed with top Chicago talent encased in a shell of original shenanigans by Silent Theatre ensemble members Brendan Balfe and Marvin Quijada AKA “Silent Marvin” (co-creator and host). “Silent Marvin” claims he has moved on from his Wild Party days and, even more alarming, his vow of silence. But how long can he keep his true nature buried? And in what hilariously horrifying ways will the struggle present itself? And who will end up on the floor in a bloody mess?!
