Columbia College Chicago Theatre Department alumni are featured in Uncharted, a two-week showcase of new plays presented by The New Colony July 11 through 20 at the Den Theatre, located at 1331 N. Milwaukee in Chicago’s Wicker Park neighborhood. For a performance schedule and tickets ($10 per performance), click here.
Among the Columbia College alums participating in the festival are:
Emilie Modaff ’14, a graduate of the Theatre Department’s BA Program in Acting. Modaff is in the cast of Other Rockpools, the festival’s opening show, about a brilliant physicist who gathers a team of scientists for one wild, irresistible purpose: to build a machine to get them all the hell out of their awful timeline.
David Gallo ’18, a graduate of the Theatre Department’s BA Program in Acting with a Minor in Voiceover. Gallo is in the cast of Scare Me, described as “a queer coming-of-age comedy about the fear of being yourself, the desire to be somebody else, and the danger of getting attached to something that was always meant to be temporary.”
Michael Peters ’05, a graduate of the Theatre Department’s BA Program in Acting. Peters, who is associate artistic director and co-founder of The New Colony, is in the cast of Letts Write a Play, about two members of a struggling Chicago storefront theatre who go to a famous Chicago playwright’s house for dinner.
Rinska Carrasco-Prestinary ’10, a graduate of the Theatre Department’s BA Program in Theatre, who is directing Bertha Van Ation 3.0., about a “quest for truth within recycled myths, parables, and trap beats.”
