Columbia College Chicago Theatre Alums Bring Jackalope Theatre’s Living Newspaper Festival to the Stage Aug. 23-27

Jackalope Theatre, a company founded and led by Columbia College Chicago Theatre Department alums and former students, presents its ninth annual Living Newspaper Festival, an evening of six 10-minute plays inspired by newspaper articles from around the nation. The Living Newspaper Festival runs August 23 through 27 at The Frontier, Jackalope’s storefront space, located at 1106 W. Thorndale in Chicago’s Edgewater Theatre District.

Columbia College Theatre Department alums involved in the production include Dakota Parobek ’15, a graduate of the Theatre Department’s Playwriting program, and Kaiser Ahmed ’08, a graduate of the Theatre Department’s BA Program in Theatre with a concentration in Theatre Directing. Parobek is the author of the play JANUS v. AFSCME, which will be directed by former Columbia College Theatre Department student Abhi Shrestha. Ahmed, Jackalope’s co-founder and associate artistic director, is directing one of the short plays, Keep That Same Energy. For $10 tickets, click here.
