Columbia College Chicago Theatre Alum’s TV Series ‘Power’ Returns for Season 5 Tonight (7/1/18)

Columbia College Chicago Theatre Department alumnus Joseph Sikora ’98, a graduate of the Theatre Department’s BA Program in Acting, is beginning his fifth season as co-star of the Starz TV network’s hit series Power. The series’ Season 5 begins Sunday, July 1, 2018, at 8 PM EST.

Power is a crime drama focusing on two drug lords in New York City. Sikora plays one of the criminals, Tommy Egan. The series — produced by rapper Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, who also plays a recurring character on the show — premiered in June 2014.

Sikora’s acting career began when he was a child in Chicago and played the title role in Touchstone Theatre’s production of The Little Prince. As an adult, since his graduation from Columbia College, he has appeared on Chicago stages in productions at Goodman, Lookingglass, Chicago Shakespeare, and Shattered Globe theatres. He was nominated for a Joseph Jefferson Award (Chicago theatre’s top award) for his lead performance in Shattered Globe’s 1999 production Frozen Assets.

On Broadway, he costarred in a 2006 revival of the classic drama The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial opposite fellow Chicago actor David Schwimmer.

Sikora’s movie credits include My Best Friend’s Wedding, Jack Reacher and Shutter Island. His extensive TV credits besides Power include guest shots on such series as Chicago PD, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, CSI: NY, Grey’s Anatomy, Criminal Minds, Third Watch, Monk, ER, Lost, Boardwalk Empire, and The Good Wife.
