Columbia College Chicago Theatre Department faculty and alumni are helping the Savoyaires musical theatre troupe bring Gilbert and Sullivan’s classic operetta The Pirates of Penzance to the stage October 6-15.
Amy Uhl, a coordinator of the Theatre Department’s Musical Theatre Performance BFA and Musical Theatre BA programs, is directing and choreographing the production. Her assistant choreographer is Theatre Department alum Lauren Griffith ’15, a graduate of the Musical Theatre Performance BFA program and marketing coordinator of the new Columbia College Chicago Online program. And alumnus Chas Z. Mathieu ’17, a graduate of the Theatre Department’s Theatre Design BA program, is the show’s set designer.
