Columbia College Chicago Theatre Department alumna Emma Ladji ’14 will present a new work-in-progress, created and performed in collaboration with multimedia artist Maxime Chudeau, on Monday, August 28, at Links Hall at Constellation, Chicago’s leading venue for cutting-edge performance and dance.
Ladji, a graduate of the Theatre Department’s BA Program in Acting, is a performer working with text, choreography and improvisation, while Chudeau is a multimedia artist working primarily with synthesizers, computers, found noises and sounds, and his own original drawings and texts. This collaboration is an attempt to fuse two vastly different methods of work and a variety of mediums together to create a more immersive performance experience.
“Being weaned on extreme self-affirmation while experiencing the violence of falling in love is presented as a live state of schizophrenia,” says the program description for Ladji and Chudeau’s piece, which is described as “an exploration in narcissism and the self esteem craze.”
Tickets are $8 general admission — $5 for students. Links Hall at Constellation is located at 3111 N. Western, Chicago. For tickets, click here.
