Columbia College Chicago Theatre Department alums Ann Delaney ’14 and Jake Ganzer ’15 are in the cast of Hobo King, a new drama by Chicago playwright Javon Johnson, now receiving its world premiere from Congo Square Theatre. Inspired by true events, the play concerns the response of Chicago’s homeless community after one of their members is unjustly slain by city police. Delaney, a graduate of the Theatre Department’s BFA Program in Musical Theatre Performance, and Ganzer, a graduate of the Theatre Department’s BA Program in Musical Theatre, play the police officers whose violent act sets the story in motion.
Hobo King runs through March 5 at the Athenaeum Theatre, 2936 N. Southport, Chicago. For tickets, call 773-935-6875 or click here.
