Columbia College Chicago Theatre Department alum Jess Godwin ’05, a graduate of the Theatre Department’s BA Program in Acting, will star in “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road: Jess Godwin Sings Elton John” on Saturday, November 19, at Governors State University, 1 University Parkway, in south suburban University Park. Godwin, herself a singer-songwriter and recording artist as well as a frequent performer in Chicago-area theatrical productions, will pour her vulnerable heart and dynamic voice into Elton John’s greatest hits. John’s sometimes eccentric, always heartfelt blend of classical, gospel, and rock idioms perfectly suit Godwin, who shines playing piano-driven classics like “Your Song,” “Rocket Man,” and “Benny and the Jets.”
The concert starts at 8 PM on Saturday, November 19. For tickets, call 708-534-5000 or click here.
