The LIVINGroom, an ensemble of solo writer/performers including several alumni and students from the Columbia College Chicago Theatre Department, will present an evening of solo performances on Friday, July 22, at the Greenhouse Theater Center, 2257 N. Lincoln, Chicago. Curated and directed by Columbia College alum Laura Reitsma (BFA ’09), a graduate of the Columbia College Chicago Theatre Department’s acting program and producing artistic director of The LIVINGroom, the show — titled Greenhouse Live: Chicago Stories — is a night of highly theatrical Chicago stories, inspired by true events. Performers include Columbia College alumni  Ian Randall (BFA ’06), Anna Wolfe (BA ’15), Carly Jo Geer (BA ’13), Reeny Hofrichter (BA ’10), and Joel Reitsma (BFA ’08), all graduate of the Theatre Department’s acting program. The show starts at 8 PM. Tickets are $10. For tickets, call 773-404-7336 or click here.

On Sunday, July 31, The LIVINGroom will return to its usual venue — Stage 773, 1225 W. Belmont, Chicago — for Playlist, a special performance created in collaboration with sound designer Jeffrey Levin (BA ’10), a graduate of the Columbia College Chicago Music Department‘s BA Program in Music with a Composition Concentration. Levin recently received a 2016 Non-Equity Jeff Award for Sound Design for Oracle Theatre’s production of The Hairy Ape. Solo performers in Playlist include Laura Reitsma, Joel Reitsma, Ian Randall, and Abigail Phelps (BA ’15), also a graduate of the Columbia College Theatre Department’s acting program. Both words and sound will transport the audience to places as vast as the far side of the moon, as cozy as an attic bedroom, as boisterous as a Florida beach and as still as a church sanctuary or the coldest night of winter. The performance starts at 8 PM. For tickets, call 773-327-5252 or click here.
