The Columbia College Chicago Theatre Department continues its faculty and student exchange program with England’s Rose Bruford College of Theatre and Performance with a production of Lion in the Streets, by Canadian playwright Judith Thompson, running March 17-19 at Rose Bruford’s Barn Theatre in Lamorbey Park, Southeast London. The play concerns the ghost of a nine-year-old Portuguese girl who is searching for her rapist/killer 17 years after her murder in suburban Toronto.

The production is directed by Columbia College Chicago alumnus Brian Shaw (BA ’86), now a professor in the Theatre Department.

The exchange program with Rose Bruford College is part of the Columbia College Theatre Department’s expanding activities in the area of international theatre study. Last fall, the Theatre Department launched a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting with International Performance Study, offered in association with Rose Bruford College, which provides students with the opportunity to prepare for a career as a global artist, equally adept at interpretation or creation, in classical work as well as the most current media practice.
